Kai
There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and
when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.
London
We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.
Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.
Must be read in order:
Perfect Chaos (Unyielding, #1) Deck and Georgie
Perfect Ruin (Unyielding, #2) Kai and London
Perfect Rage (Unyielding, #3) Connor’s story
Roughly one year ago I read one of the most thought provoking, psychologically thrilling and erotically charged books to ever hit my kindle and that was Perfect Chaos (Unyielding #1). At the time I was skeptical that it could be topped in intensity and mystery but I was terribly wrong. The second book of the Unyielding series is even better than the first and there isn't enough stars out there to give to such a deserving book. This book is Kai and London's story that is at times beautiful/loving but it also contains very dark subject material that could cause emotional triggers so please be aware.
London is the daughter of a man creating the drug that turns human soldiers into machine like weapons. Where London has been under the assumption that her father is working for the "good guys" diligently creating a cancer treatment, she goes about her days without a care in the world attending college where she plans on following in her father's footsteps. Blissfully ignorant of pretty much everyone and everything in her life is the way "they" have wanted it up until now. While visiting her father's research lab London is forced to hide in a storage closest for her safety and overhears some things that put her life into a complete tailspin. The person speaking to her father is not only one of the most handsome men she has every seen but he is also cold enough to give her chills. London is as attracted to him as she is scared of him and for some reason he reminds her of the man she dreams about from time to time but he couldn't be...could he?
Kai is the son of a founding member of the Company. Where most children are raised to become decent human beings and respect human life that was not the case with Kai. Kai was placed in the program and molded into a weapon on his mother's order. Where most children learn how to read and write Kai has a near genius IQ and is fluent in multiple languages yet he could blend in anywhere across the globe with his charisma and good looks. Kai has spent years training for all the missions that he runs with ease and he knows his eventual takeover of the Company is the next step. Everything was going along according to plan until he came across the scientist's daughter and regardless of who he spends his time with or where he goes around the world it will always come back to her.
Thrilling, steamy, heartbreaking and passionate from beginning to end with a set up for the next book that leaves you with your jaw on the floor!!!
