“Please.” She wasn’t above begging. “I’ve waited so long.”
“I won’t bite you,” he said, his face sliding down between her legs. A fang nipped at the sensitive artery in her inner thigh. “But I bloody well want to.”
Did she even care if he bit her? It would be a relief after what she’d endured. A relief to feel that connection so acutely. But she wouldn’t press him this time. She remembered how they’d gotten carried away. He’d taken too much, drank too deeply, and she could have died. They needed to take it slow.
The blood. Not the sex. She needed that right now.
His finger slicked through her wetness and began to massage her clit. She vibrated from the sensation. She didn’t know if she’d be able to hold out before he was inside of her.
Then his eyes found hers again. His boxers disappeared and then his cock was in his hand. He massaged the length of himself as he watched her walk on a tightrope. Any second she was going to fall off and into oblivion. Nothing and no one had ever made her feel so good. No. No one had ever made her feel.
“So . . . close,” she ground out.
One powerful thrust seated him to the hilt within her. She cried out as he stretched her to the max. No warning or preamble just his cock inside of her, filling her to completion.
Her walls clenched around him. She was so close, but instinctively, she knew he wasn’t going to let her release without him.
Then he started moving. A slow pull out and a quick drive inward. Once, twice, three times.
“Not yet,” he said, his eyes commanding.
She tried to hold back. She could wait. Oh God, she could wait.
Then he started up the rhythm again. Setting his own course, owning and claiming her body. Reclaiming everything that he’d lost in that one moment of stupidity on her part. In his one moment of weakness.
She could see in his eyes the weight that loss had cost him. The toll it had taken on him for giving into his urges, for finally relinquishing his hold on himself. His eyes said he’d never do it again. His eyes were a promise.
“Becks, come with me,” she cried, clutching the sheets.
He grasped her hips and owned her body where he refused to own her blood. Taking everything she would give him, but not everything he wanted. Not everything she wanted.
She was so close. She looked in his eyes and knew they would finish together.
Reyna woke up screaming.
She jolted upright in her overly plush king-sized bed with its too many pillows and too much softness. Her hair was plastered to her face. Sweat coated her body, soaking through the thin white shirt she’d worn to bed.
Her eyes adjusted to the dim lighting and she looked around the small room. Everything was in place. Nothing had changed. Not a damn thing.
Beckham wasn’t here.
It had been a dream. A sick dream. A desperate horrible dream.
Her hand moved to her cotton panties and found the slicked wetness still there. The ache still building in her lower half from lack of release. The aftereffects of the dream. It had felt so real. So very real.
She had felt him moving inside of her. She had seen the love in his eyes. She had known his remorse.
But none of that was real.
That was her imagination at work. Conjuring his face just to torture herself with his absence. Remembering the feel of his body and the love in his eyes, only to know that he hadn’t found her. Aching for one more view of him.
It had been fifty-five days since she’d last seen his face.
Reyna made a mark in the notebook next to the bed.
Fifty-six.

About the Author

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Jill's Review of Mister Tonight by Kendall Ryan

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a standalone romance about a swoony single dad and the new neighbor he falls for. Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life. I was THAT girl. You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth with her two best friends—the ones who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate. By reckless, I meant the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, and handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I'd had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I'm not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like French fries, so there's that. He took me home and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life, well until it came to a screeching, and rather unwelcome halt. There's nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking: "What are you doing to my daddy?" Just kill me now…... or so I thought. Come to find out the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.

REVIEWED BY JILL

4 stars for - Mister Tonight - by Kendall Ryan. A complete stand alone about a woman who never planned on finding someone special and a single dad who's primary focus is raising his little girl. There were so many laughs and even a few tears in this sweet but crazy sexy story of how they fell in love.
Kate is a celebrity gossip columnist who writes all about the crazy drama that surrounds their lives therefore she tends to keep her own relationships very brief not even minding the occasional one night variety too. While out with her closest friends for her thirtieth birthday she decides she is going home with a gorgeous man for some much needed birthday fun but she needs to find someone that "fits the bill" first. Kate sees a gorgeous man in a suit at the bar who will do quite nicely for the evening and makes her move.
Hunter works as a city planner and is a single dad to a gorgeous four year old girl. Stopping for a drink after work and seeing a gorgeous woman was a bonus but when she suggests heading to his place he realizes things are about to get rather interesting. They hit it off rather spectacularly until they are interrupted by his daughter mid hook-up since he forgot to lock the door. Thinking he would never get to see her again he is thrown for a loop when she shows up the next day looking to rent his apartment.

A New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of more than two dozen titles, Kendall Ryan has sold over 1.5 million books and her books have been translated into several languages in countries around the world. She's a traditionally published author with Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins UK, as well as an independently published author. Since she first began self-publishing in 2012, she's appeared at #1 on Barnes & Noble and iBooks charts around the world. Her books have also appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists more than three dozen times.   EXCERPT:

The hospital is a beacon of light and hope as we pull in. I barely remember to put my car in park before I jump out and I leave it in the middle of the lane, the tires wrenched haphazardly toward the curb. “Ma’am, you can’t park there,” a guy in a security uniform says with his fake badge, but I don’t answer. I toss him my keys and push my way to the doors, and that’s when I see him. My son. They’ve pulled him out of the ambulance, and he’s so still, so white. He’s got the body of a man and the face of a boy, and he’s got vomit in his hair. One hand dangles over the edge of the gurney, orange flecks dripping from his fingers to the floor, but no one notices, no one cares. “Beck,” I breathe, and he doesn’t open his eyes. “Beck,” I say louder, as loud as I can. His mouth is slack, but he’s not dead, he can’t be dead because someone is pumping his heart with her fist. She’s running next to the gurney, and she’s pounding on his heart, making it beat. “Coming through,” she yells at the doors, and there is a team of people working on him. They’re frantic, and that’s not good. I chase after them, through the emergency room, through the people, but someone grabs me at a giant set of double-doors, the gateway to the important rooms. “You can’t go in there,” a nurse tells me. “That’s my son,” I try to tell her, but she doesn’t care. “Beck,” I scream, and I try to see through the windows, but I can’t because he’s gone. “I love you, Beck. Stay here. Stay here.” The nurse grasps my arm, and I can’t stand anymore. My legs are tired and the adrenaline… it numbs me. I collapse beside her and she tries to hold me up, but she can’t… I’m on the ground. My face is wet, when did I start crying? “You have to save my son,” I beg her, my fingers curled into her arm. I stare into her eyes. Hers are green, ringed with blue, and she looks away. Something about her seems so familiar, something about those eyes. “We’ll try, ma’am,” she says uncertainly. It’s the uncertainty that kills me. “We’ll do everything we can. I’m going to take you to a quiet room, and give you a blanket. Is there anyone I can call for you?” I shake my head. “No. I already called my sister.” “Okay,” the nurse says quietly and her name tag says Jessica. She takes me to a waiting room, a quiet private one, the ones they use when the outcome might not be good. I know that because I’ve been here before. I swallow hard and she puts a cup of coffee in my hand. As she does, she pushes a stray hair out of her face and her bracelet catches my eye. A simple chain with a silver dolphin on it. I’ve seen it before. “You were here the night my husband was brought in,” I realize slowly. “Weren’t you? Do you remember me?” It was a year ago. A year, two months… I check my watch… six days and twenty-two hours ago. Of course she doesn’t remember me. But Jessica nods. “I’m so sorry about your husband,” she tells me now, her voice quiet and thick. “I swear to you, we did everything we could.” “I know,” I tell her. Because I do. The accident was so bad, there’s no way anyone could’ve survived. Except for Beck. He lived. But Matt...his injuries were insurmountable. That’s what the doctor told me that night. I stare at the door, and this is the same room and that is the same door, and this is the same blue-tiled floor. For a minute, I’m back in that moment, and the doctor is coming in. I’d waited for hours and his face was so grave and I knew, I knew, before he could utter a word. I shook my head because I didn’t want to hear what was coming next, but he spoke anyway. Matt’s injuries were insurmountable, he’d said. We did everything we could. But everything wasn’t enough, and my husband died. “Is it a different doctor tonight?” I ask suddenly. “I need a different doctor. One who can save my son.” I know it’s illogical. I know it was never the doctor’s fault, but it doesn’t matter because Jessica is nodding. “It’s a different doctor tonight,” she tells me. “Dr. Grant, and he’s very, very good.” “Okay,” I whisper. “Okay.” “If you need anything, you tell me,” Jessica says and I can see that she means it. She likes me. Or she feels sorry for me. It doesn’t matter which. I nod and she’s gone, and I’m alone. Just like I was a year ago, and just like that night all I can do is pace. I’m a caged mama wolf and there’s nothing I can do, but I know that if I stop moving, Beck might die. My energy is attached to his energy. I have to move. It all depends on me. So I walk in circles. I walk six paces, over the six white tiles, then I turn, taking three steps over the blue. I tread back six paces over the white, and then turn again, taking three more over the blue. I will not stop, Beck. I won’t fail you. I won’t. It becomes rhythmic, and I match my breaths with my steps. I’m a machine, a time-keeper, a being made of clock-work as I walk in circles, marking time. Every step I take, Beck is still alive. I feel it in my heart. It’s all up to me.

Blurb:

On the day I turned fifteen years old I knew I loved James Blakney.  There was a look in his eye that told me he’d finally noticed I existed in a realm beyond best-friend’s-much-younger-off-limits-don’t-even-think-about-it-little-sister.  Call it womanly intuition, despite the fact I was barely qualified for being an actual woman at just fifteen—and only in the biological sense—but still, I knew I loved him.

What I never expected from him was a proposal of marriage nearly eight years later. I know it's not supposed to be a real marriage, but James is certainly making it feel that way.

He's also hiding something from me.

But I've hidden the truth from him as well.

Lies.

So many filthy lies.

Amie's Review of All This Time by Kathy Coopmans

Title: All This Time
Series: Sweet Sin
Author: Kathy Coopmans
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Rockstar Romance

Some people claim to have their hearts ripped out of their chests. To feel the world shift under their feet. To feel intoxicated by love.
Miles Wittman, the bassist for the rock band Trained in Black, felt those things until the shift became a hole and dragged him into darkness.
His mind clouded by years of alcohol abuse, the man remembers very little of the last two years of his life.
Until her.
A woman from his past.
Julia Nulty, the band’s manager sister, the sexy, exotic plus-sized model.
Bits and pieces of his memory start to surface after the two of them are caught up in an unexpected photo shoot.
She’s rocked his world. He feels the shift. The intoxication.
But Miles, he has no recollection of the night they spent together. If he finds out the truth of what happened, it could possibly lead him back to the darkness.

**The Sweet Sin series is a series of interconnected standalone rockstar romances.**

Adjusting my guitar, I turn around and freeze, every muscle in my body loosening at the stunning woman sitting on the stool next to me. One look at her, and the air in the sound booth evaporates, stealing it right out of my lungs.
“Keep looking at me like that, and I’ll lock the door, shut off the lights, and fuck you up against the window. I’ll have them rattling harder than they’ve ever vibrated before.”
A sharp breath escapes Julia’s mouth. Her eyes go wide. Her lips are painted in a delicious shade of light pink, glossy and so plump my taste buds explode in my mouth. Damn, the woman has my knees knocking together. Straight pin-up version of sex is what she is. Earth-shattering sex. A little rough with a whole lot of meaning.
She looks much better than she did nearly a week ago when I climbed the steps to her house leading to the unknown. I’d like to think I had something to do with it. The truth is, it’s all her and the strength she possesses.
I wrap my arm around her waist, yanking her to the edge of the stool, then lift my hand to settle on that gorgeous face.
“I dare you.”
Her dare sizzles through me like an electric wire.

AMIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW
This was a great story !! I had been looking forward to Miles' story and knew it would be an emotional read. The start of this - WOW - heartbreaking. I wasn't sure if I would get over his loss in time to enjoy what he and Julia would have. Anyhow - have no fear , their connection was so amazing I was swept up quickly. If you have followed the band since the start you know about Miles and Julia AND their AMAZING night. You also know that Miles was a mess and is just finding his way back from that with the band. I loved Julia's confidence , I loved how she got away from her mother and became an amazing model despite her struggle and her mother's awful attitude. There are more than a few heartwarming aspects of this story as well as some infuriating ones BUT in the end the good outweighs and this story delivers all the feels and leaves you wanting more.
