REVIEW

I have long been a fan of this author's writing and this book is just as good if not better than some of her others. The love story/romance are still wonderfully written as only MV can do but the gritty, danger filled conflict was intensely captivating and kept me engaged from start to finish.

Everly is a small town girl with a huge crush on the new rare bookstore owner. She loves everything about the man from his good looks to his British accent and stops in once a week to pick up the romance novels he specially orders for her. Everly continues her flirty banter with Roman hoping he will finally realize she is interested but things just remain at a stand still. That is until she rescues him from bleeding to death on his shop floor.

Roman Smith is definitely not who Everly thinks he is therefore he has kept his distance romantically speaking. The rare books store is just a front for his actual occupation of being a top assassin in the Russian Bratva. His actual name is Nikolai Romanov and now that Everly is in danger he whisks her away to keep her safe from "the other bad guys". Regardless of the distance they have traveled or the danger they find themselves in they can't seem to deny the attraction that they share for one another.

Loved this book and many of the other characters we got to meet. So glad it is the start of a new series from MV and can't wait to read more about these characters and their cohorts :)
