Amie's 4 STAR REVIEW
This was a great story - I have not read this author for a while and even when I was reading her constantly it was during the time of the Red/Wolfe and Beast stories - which I also loved !! I admit I did not read the first book in this series of standalones but I am sure I will check it out when I get a chance. This is the story of Dash and Amelia. Amelia and Dash's sister Lexi were besties as kids and of course Dash became an important part of the friendship but he also became so much more to Amelia. As the years went on and they got older they both harboured feelings for one another yet never could find a way to do anything about it. In the heat of the moment Dash had a knack for making promises he didn't keep thus breaking Amelia's heart and severing their bond. Amelia and Lexi's friendship struggled in high school and was almost non existent come college due to the choices Lexi made in recreational activities and her lifestyle. Here we find them years down the road together as fate would have it. Although this does become a great story of love and redemption there is some serious heartbreak and a few moments I didn't expect. I really enjoyed the suspense of Dash's secret and I didn't really catch on to it I was thinking something so different. I was happy that Amelia not only found success with her internship but an HEA that was years in the making !!
