“He apologized. Don’t you think you should do the polite thing and at least hear him out?”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know, or you’re just too scared to find out what will happen if you do?”
“Do we have to do this right now?” I sigh, and he tosses his arm around my shoulders and pulls me into his side.
“We’ve been doing this for months now. I’ve seen the way you look at him when you think no one will notice, and I see the way he looks at you, not giving a fuck if everyone sees. Even when he thought you and I were a thing, he still made it perfectly clear to those who were watching that if by some chance he got a shot, you would be his.”
“I really think you are reading way too much into this.”
“Am I?”
“I don’t know.”

3.5 stars for - Until Sage - book two in the Until Him series by ARR. The "Until" books can all be read as stand-alone's as each one has a happily ever after. While I am a huge fan of this series this particular book didn't really have me falling in love like all the others did, not that it wasn't a good book (because it truly was), I just did not make that connection.
Sage Mayson is Nico and Sophie's son and he works as a bounty hunter with his cousin Jax. Helping a random stranger on the side of the road with a flat tire lead him to the woman that would forever change his life. Sage never thought he would be victim to the Mayson family BOOM since he was adopted, but he was wrong since the minute he met Kim he felt it.
Kimberly Cullen moved to Tennessee from Miami for a fresh start and to reconnect with an identical twin she knew nothing about. Working at Frankie's salon and living in a nice neighborhood was enough for her until she spent one glorious night with Sage Mayson. Falling hard and fast for Sage was not something she ever planned on, but a misunderstanding of epic proportions makes Sage think the worst of her. Now that Sage has been set straight it is too little too late since he already broke Kim's heart and she refuses to listen to anything he has to say.
This was a good story with ARR's trademark insta-love, smoking - hot chemistry and happily ever after. My issues with this story were Sage really lacking and almost bland as the whole over-the-top alpha male that ARR is famous for writing. Then by just glossing over Kim's health when that was the catalyst for both of them to run really seemed strange. Just because I didn't fall in love with this Mayson man doesn't mean I won't fall for the next one so I will most certainly read every other book to come in this series :)
