She was, still is, and will never be anything but my everything.
Our love was all consuming, passionate, and forbidden. We took risks to be together, carrying on an affair for years before her psychotic drug lord husband found the truth behind the lies. She barely escaped with her life … and that of my newborn son.
My club president told me that our love was no longer worth the risk, gave me a choice, and loyalty to the club being what it is, I walked away from her. I left behind the only thing I’ve ever wanted more than life itself and remained the dutiful soldier to a corrupt leader.
Six years and a promotion to club president later, it’s time the lies stopped. She IS worth the risk, I’ve NEVER gone a day without thinking about her OR my son, and I know underneath it all she DOES still love me. She just won’t admit it … yet.
It’s time to run this club my way and make my family what it should have always been—complete. The road may have been long and lonely, but the journey is far from over.

REVIEW
This book took me forever to read.....not because it was horrible or the editing was crappy but because I knew it would end on a cliff hanger and was slowly putting off finishing it. Max Henry has done it again and somehow knows just how to toy with her readers and leave them frothing at the mouth just to get more.
Unrequited is King and Elena's story. If you have read Ms. Henry's previous series "The Butcher Boys", you were introduced to King and even had small snippets of Elena. However this book takes place before any of the Butcher Boys come into the fold. Its the story of a secret relationship that both have and the consequences that come when everyone finds out about them.
Elena has struggled her whole life, being from Cuba and new to the states, she finds herself stuck in a horrible predicament; engaged to Carlos Redman. Forced into this relationship, she will do anything to help save her mom (who is back in Cuba) from the Cartel. But a "change" meeting with a stranger soon makes Elena doubt what she is doing. But is it to late? Can she get away from Carlos and be with her secret lover.
The last thing King thought he would find while out on a club run was the sexy Latina, Elena. Something about her embedded in his soul and from then on out he was a goner. However after a few meetings, Elena drops the bomb on him and tells King about her relationship with Carlos. Knowing that the Club always comes first, King finds himself in the greatest predicament of his life; leave the club and try to break Elena free from Carlos and live a together or do what he is suppose to do as a new club member and leave her behind? Number One rule of the club: Club always comes first!
There is a constant push and pull with both of theses characters and at certain times I wanted to scream my head off. As a avid MC Romance reader, I found myself thinking up ways that King could pull it (taking Elena away from Carlos) but then with him not having the support of his club, I quickly changed my mind. This is a dark read that contains some dark subjects but I would expect anything different from Max. I can't wait to see how King actually pulls this off but at some point we all know (since it says in the other books) that he does. Well done Ms. Henry. Total 4 Star read.
