The Insurgents MC series are standalone romance novels. This is Axe and Baylee’s love story. This book contains violence, strong language, and steamy sexual scenes. It describes the life and actions of an outlaw motorcycle club. HEA. No cliffhangers! The book is intended for readers over the age of 18.
I don't even know where to start out with this book and it's main characters!!!!!! This is my first chance to get to read anything from this author and I am so glad I signed up for it. I usually tend to go for anything with a MC/Biker Alpha, who seems to meet his match and then turns into a softie. But this book is that and so much more.
After her mothers murder, Baylee Peters is doing everything she has set out in life to do. She is one of the top architects at her mother's old firm and is quickly climbing the corporate ladder. Until one night at a friends wedding, she is presented with offer from a sexy stranger that she just can't refuse. With not wanting or even having time for a relationship, Baylee agrees to have a night of wild sex with the stranger. Who's not down for something like that? She doesn't need to know his name or even what he likes to do. It's the perfect arrangement.
The last place Michael aka "Axe" wanted to be was his childhood's friends wedding, but being that he was Axe's only friend from the past, Axe felt like he had to go. But when he sees the brunette beauty in the celery green dress, his is sure glad he drove the three hours to attend. Just his luck at the reception, the beauty is at his table and with not much flirting, Axes soon has this firecracker in bed. She wants to know nothing. No names, no personal information at all. Axe likes how she rolls and figures that she is just like him. He hates to do repeats and never wants to be tied down. However after slipping out of the beauty's room, Axe soon starts to feel something that he has never felt before.
Fast forward a few months later and Baylee is forced to go out of town for work. She and her annoying coworker is put in charge of a project and must deal with the local MC on the issue. However the last person Baylee thought she would see in the board meeting was the man who has been in forefront of her mind every night since the wedding.
Axe couldn't get over the lead architect for the new strip mall was his mystery girl. Something about her sets him off and digs up feelings that he has never felt before. Can he convince her that a second time around might be a good thing or will his cold heart start to warm up to the beauty and want something else?
This story was a quick read for me but I loved every minute of it. It is well written and the constant banter between Axe and Baylee is hilarious. The sex scenes are specticular. First of all, these two hump like rabbits. Everything they seemed to be alone they were going at it. And Axe's dirty mouth was something all in itself. There were many parts where I found myself blushing and some of the stuff he said or even the things he did to Baylee.
I am aware that this book is part of a series but it can be read as a stand alone. Great Writing! I can't wait to read more from this series.
