SYNOPSIS:

WARNING: Author believes in soul mates and insta-love,
proceed with caution if you're not a romantic at heart.

Love's greatest cure is salvation of one’s soul.

Shane Sherman has a problem. Well, two, actually. One has auburn hair and pale-green eyes, and the other? . . . Is a secret. One he doesn't want to talk about. But all that changes when Sage comes to town.

Sage Sloan is being stalked. So she runs to Trails End and the bravest man her sister said she'd ever met. Sergeant Shane Sherman.

Sparks fly, tempers flare, and bears misbehave as Shane and Sage find a way to coexist in Trails End. That is, until a killer comes to call. Then all bets are off. Shane isn't about to lose his saving grace.

This is the third and final book in the Reason Series.
I highly recommend you read books one and two before "A Reason To Live."

Rated R for sexual content and language and M for Maxine.

MY REVIEW

Book three in the Reason series can be read as a stand alone but it is highly suggested to read the other two books in the series first since there are characters that have a recurring presence in the books that you just don't want to miss a minute of. This book is all about Shane and Sage overcoming both physical and mental demons to find that elusive HEA.

Sage Sloan is a counselor working on behalf of abused children for the court system deciding whether their home environment is safe or not. Sage is an advocate of children not necessarily their parents and finds herself the recipient of rather nasty and sinister warnings which obviously had to come from parents who were unhappy with her ruling. After months of these messages Sage decides to take them seriously and seek help from the man her baby sister called one of the bravest people she knew. Setting her sights on Trails End, Alaska and Sergeant Sherman is the only plans Sage has for now, hoping she can figure out the rest when she gets there...

Shane Sherman is barely existing in his beloved Trails End, Alaska floating from one part time job to the next rarely getting paid or even wanting to for the work he is doing around town. Shane still wakes up with nightmares of what happened in Afghanistan and will never forgive himself, let alone move on. The only one Shane wants to be close to in the last year is a bear cub named BooBoo and a very small group of friends. Now seemingly out of nowhere a beautiful women arrives in town asking for his help and possibly more but in order for him to do that, not only does he have to get over the past that haunts him, but he needs to tell her all his secrets too...

Loved this book and so glad there was an extra storyline of Maxine & Gregor finally finding their HEA after all this time too :)
