Madison had it all; the wealth, the amazing condo and engaged to the boxing Heavy Weight Champion of the world.
But in reality all she had was loneliness.
Until he showed up.
Yoel’s plan was bulletproof.
Get in and get out, win the title.
He did his homework but not well enough.
He wasn’t prepared for her.
One night changes everything.
One lie blurs the lines.
When the lust and smoke clears will everything just be a false illusion
Or will it be the biggest fight of all?

“We can’t keep doing this, I’m engaged.”
“To someone who clearly isn’t taking care of your needs, he’s probably never even home.” I step close to her, my finger tracing her jaw. “He has no ideawhat he has, baby doll.” Fuck, I said too much.
She looks away and then back at me, staring at me for what feels like forever. She knows I’m right, she doesn’t know how right I am. She doesn’t know that I know all about that asshole.
“We need rules if we’re going to do this,” she finally says.
I take a breath in relief. I can’t have her ruining my plans.
“Shoot.”

Madison St. Cruix seems to be living every girl's dream with a huge rock on her finger and a fiancé who is the heavyweight boxing champion of the world.

At least that is what author A. Cramton uses to set the stage for the first book in the False series titled False Illusions.

From the very beginning, the reader can feel Madison's loneliness, a yearning for more. That is the emotion that permeates much of the first part of the story. What's a girl to do when she suddenly encounters someone who lavishes her with attention?

The connection between Madison and Yoel jumps off the screen. He's a take charge kind of guy who radiates hotness. Put them together and the clothes just seem to fly off. Every encounter convinces the reader that this couple deserves to be together.

If you are familiar with the term "smoke and mirrors," it is an apt description of what the author has done (and very successfully). There's a lot going on behind the scenes that completely blew my mind when revealed.

Watching Madison evolve as a character really made the storyline come to life. The author did a phenomenal job giving out crumbs of information before unveiling the big picture. I loved the unpredictability of what would happen next.

I also have to note that the hotel scenes were some of the hottest I've ever read. Maybe it's the mindset that Madison and Yoel are pursuing a forbidden romance, but they connected well. For the reader, that translates into plenty of sizzling action.

Each chapter is titled with a song that sets the tone for what is happening. Like everything else in the story, the song titles provide way to draw the reader in.

The ending is masterfully created to ensure that book two will be highly anticipated. The author had all the ingredients for one of those awful cliffhangers, but instead gave readers a reason to want to read the next installment. I'm definitely on board to see what A. Cramton can do to top False Illusions.
