Blurb

When a marriage of convenience turns into the passion of a lifetime…

Holden “Havoc” Thompson

My job as the leader of the Moonshine Task Force is my life. I eat, breathe, and sleep it. The men under my command mean the world to me. Knowing they count on my guidance has kept my demons at bay for longer than I care to admit.

The control I have over myself is an iron fist that sometimes threatens to squeeze the life out of me. What I want more than anything is to live again – let go of the hurt smothering every bit of light I have in this darkness.

I don’t expect it to come in the form of a Moonshiner’s daughter needing my protection.

Leighton Strather

My whole life has been defined by who my family is. In the state of Alabama, we’re number one with a target on our backs. The danger and prestige isn’t for me. I don’t care about the money, and I care too much about the families we’ve ruined.

My brother and my dad are proud of it. They wear their arrest records like a badge of honor. Me? I want as far away from the lifestyle as I can get.

It’s the only reason I ask Holden to marry me. At least that's what I tell myself.

I never expect his whispered yes to cause such upheaval in my life. Even though I resist, I learn some havoc is good – and this one? It’s a whirlwind of lust, hope, and love and all I can do is let it sweep me away.

REVIEWED BY SHERI

4 Star Read
Holden "Havoc" Thompson knew marrying Leighton was a good decision but the feelings he is starting to have wasn't part of the plan. She was from everything bad in the town, someone who a cop was not suppose to marry but one look at her, Havoc knew she had to keep her safe.

Being the daughter of the town most notorious trouble maker, Leighton didn't' have high hopes for her future. But every now and then a knight in shining armor would come around the house and give her a glimpse of what good their is was in the world. Who would have know that years later and a bar bet would change her life.

Fast forward and both Leigh and Holden are married and living together and going thought the motions of being married. Both have unspoken feelings for each other but when will they let the other one know? Was their marriage of convenience really for "Convenience"? Will their past come back to haunt them, leaving them fighting for something before their relationship even gets started?

"Havoc" is the third book in the MTF series but can be read as a stand alone. Laramie provides enough information for a new reader to fall in love with these characters. I instantly fell for Holden and I fell hard. His character was beautifully written and provided such a strong and stable life for Leigh. Leigh's character was equally as great. She was everything Holden didn't think he needed or wanted. She was compassionate when it was necessary but then she could stand her own as well.

The supporting characters were some of the best that I have read in a long time. Each one plays a intricate part in both Holden and Leigh's lives. They truly show what a family is for, even when you are not blood related.
