Amie's Review of White by T.L. Smith ~ BLOG TOUR ~ SERIES REVIEW ~

5 STAR REVIEW FOR BLACK

So the cover...need I say more !!

I am a fan of this author and I love her crazy twisted mind so add in the synop - met when 16 , she leaves , 10 years later - Franggy and dark/crazy/twisted WOW that equals mind blown !! I couldn't stop reading , I sat in the minivan for 3hrs of my kids dance classes and finished the darn book !! I only looked up to guzzle hot chocolate and adjust my seat so I could get more comfy !! Some of the scenes were so hot I didn't even need to run the van to stay warm !!!! The ending - STFU WTF are you kidding me. I should have known or guessed or IDK wanted that but geez way to do me in all over again. CANNOT wait to see what else comes from this beautiful twisted mind - hoping it is very soon !

So when we meet our characters they are both suffering from things we are not clear on- they have an odd meeting , an odd exchange but their connection is amazing and not easily overlooked. She is oddly amazing and he is trouble !! They have their moments and then as fast as it happens it seems to be over. Talk about vague-viewing LOL

10 years later -

Black is the man to fear. When he comes for you , you know why.

He has a close friend associated with the local MC. He does work for them on occasion so he is allowed into their clubhouse and at their parties. This of course is a great place to find all too willing females to release the work tension with. This one night, this one party Black may find someone to relieve the tension yet after the fact he finds a whole new world of blackness when he sees the broken girl on the floor.

She is in a bad way. Her life took a drastic turn after she lost someone dear to her. Now she is lost and if it wasn't for Black she may never have found her way. Not that anything about what he does is conventional LOL. The past , the present , the secrets and the connections - so many things stacked against them both. What happens when it is all out in the open ?? Can they survive ?? Will they survive each other ?? That connection is still so strong and I was hoping they would fess up and get on with it. I have to say I am always so caught up in these kinds of twisted stories that I often miss the clues. I try so hard to hang on every word so I can piece it together and figure out just tangled the web is BUT I always fall short. I was pretty devastated towards the end and the 5yrs later was torture, we won't even talk about that little extra chapter- good luck keeping your sanity !! If you can't handle a cliffy DO NOT attempt LOL. Honestly I say suck it up and deal , you won't regret it.

SPEECHLESS REVIEW TO COME SOON - April 1st

It has been almost a week since I devoured this book and I am still like WHAT - I knew with how Black ended that this book would be amazing - but AGAIN with this new ending and the juicy bit of Jake !! I am impatiently waiting for what comes next as I still try to recover from the heck we have been through with Black and Red aka Liam and Rose !! As much as I love to read this author and this genre it sucks to review !! Don't want to give away but cannot find the words to do it justice. I try but I always feel like I have epically failed - so if you are reading this and wondering if you should give it a try - JUST DO IT - be warned - this isn't a pretty love story - there is heartache and plenty of emotion but at the same time you are left wondering many things - it is dark and gritty yet insanely hot and panty melting !!

When we ended book 1 we felt the despair Rose felt with losing Liam - it was horrible - but unlike her we got that little 5 years later glimpse and as much as it warmed my heart I just knew it was not going to be a happy 5 years later !! Savannah and her father - that whole group of people that Trace met - wow they are a special breed. No love loss there - it was so stressful reading about Trace and knowing that he knew of nothing. All it took was the lady in RED and some time away from his HOME to start to remember who he really was. What a roller coaster, Rose has been barely holding it together for years , luckily she had Hayden and Jake BUT they could only do so much. It was hard to see all the progress she had made in book 1 with herself and Black just fly out the window. Have no fear love is a fierce bond that in this case NOTHING can ruin - or can it ?? Man what a rush and what a list of emotions I felt reading this piece of the story. This is one giant crazy puzzle and it isn't going together easily. I can't even imagine what comes next...

4 STAR REVIEW FOR WHITE

Could this really be the last piece of their story ?? Jake and Black still have that same love/hate relationship that I love so much !! I was happy that we got to see Liam and Rose , their kids and some of the other side characters. You definitely need to read Red and Black before White AND I will warn you they are not easy reads !! A lot of violence and dark/twisted fun. TL is amazing and I will always be eager to scoop up her books.

OH Jake - we seem to have some issues !! I was so excited for his book and I am so happy he got his HEA BUT man I wanted to punish him quite a few times during my reading. I know he has had a rough time , the 5 years of caring for the girl he loves , her kids , carrying on his only friends memory etc etc - to then feel useless , not needed and heartbroken, to love a girl that would never love him that way. Obviously he was going to be jaded and closed off. I just wasn't ready for him to be so blunt and so much of a jerk. Then again I really didn't know what I expected from this piece of the series. Being Jake's book I wasn't sure if there would still be all the twisted violent stuff or if it would be different with Black being home again and Jake having to be his own man now. I think I was ready for the guys to be more normal - if that makes sense. The whole JOB part of the story felt out of place for me, I am ready for these characters to settle and have true happiness. Having said that I enjoyed Jake's intensity and kink !! Addy was running from her past , her father and his rules. She was a firecracker and definitely didn't back down from Jake. They had some major hurdles to get over and they both had their moments of bad choices. This is why this is a hard review to write for me - I loved most of it but the few things that upset me were major pieces of the story. Not at all swaying me from the series or this author - just having those moments when I feel so invested that I want things to go my way !!!! One of my favorite parts was when Jake realized his feelings , when he saw Rose differently and put two and two together. I loved seeing that realization spark in his mind !! Regardless I flew through the book , got all my emotions out and am happy that Jake told his story and got his !!

Hey there! I'm Maegan and I am also a book whore... Seriously, I'm pretty sure I should be in some sort of rehab for this. Book Whore's Anonymous or something! I have a huge list of book boyfriends and it seems I find a new one every time I read. (Which, unfortunately, isn't very often anymore.) Well, I was a huge reader. From childhood, I loved the escape of reading. Being the middle of three kids, I was always the quiet one. While my older brother and younger sister fought for attention, I curled up in my room with a book. After high school, I fell out of reading as much. Life just became different, as it does for all of us. Then I went to college in my mid-twenties and who had time to read anything but school texts between classes and two jobs. I was also an assistant Girl Scout leader for my young cousins troop. The leader had been telling me for months that I needed to read Twilight. There was so much hype surrounding those books (The first movie had just come out on DVD at the time) and I refused over and over. Finally, we were at camp one weekend and it was the first time that the girls were officially in charge of everything. From rotating teams in the kitchen to clean up, the girls did it all and we were bored out of our minds. Finally, a van full of us went into the nearest town and raided a Wal Mart for books and cards to play games. The leader talked me into buying Twilight. I started it that afternoon and couldn't put it down. I stayed up til lights out and could barely sleep because I wanted to keep reading. The best part was, the girls were so excited. They were all running up to me all day asking me what part I was at. Their excitement fueled my own. That is what got me excited about reading again. The story was good, I enjoyed it, but the passion for reading was really brought back through the eyes of sixteen twelve-year-olds who loved sharing something they enjoyed with me. Maybe that's why I love sharing what I enjoy now!

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the “you shouldn’t be reading this” lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I’m just glad she didn’t find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. Fifty Shades of Grey gets high marks on my favorites list — not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexi Blake and Alexx Andria are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Christine Feehan, Iris Johansen and J.A. Konrath. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.

My name is Sheri from New Orleans and I will reading anything that has a HEA (I don't do well with sad endings), a macho Alpha Male or something with a strong female lead. I go absolutely crazy for any type of book that involves a MC (being a biker's wife its a lifestyle I kinda understand) or anything that deals with emotionally broken characters. I got into the reading game kinda late in life. I couldn't stand to read when I was younger but now I rather read a book than watch tv. I started reading at a ridiculously early age and have never really stopped. Growing up, I of course complained about the required reading but secretly loved the happily ever afters as opposed to the tragedies. While everyone else was blowing off the Lit classes in high school I looked forward to them. Then the real world stepped in and reading was not so fun anymore between work/school/family obligations it fell by the wayside. My wonderful "techie" hubby bought me the first generation Sony e-reader for Christmas one year and the rest is pretty much history. I have gone through three Sony e-readers and two kindles since then and read books from every genre under the sun. I am the only girl in a house full of boys that know undoubtedly that all women (including me) should be treated like a princess. It still makes me laugh that my love affair with books started with Frog and Toad not 50 shades.
