Kayla’s Chick Rant and Book Blog
April 17, 2016

They say when you quit trying so hard, things will finally fall into place. So, I let go of my failed marriage to Aiden, focused all my attention on my daughter and finishing school while working a full-time job, and suddenly…
Barely breathing turned into surviving.
Surviving turned into being content.
Contentment turned into happiness.
All just my girl and me.
But there was still something missing, something I truly never thought I’d have.
My happily ever after.

Wish Come True is the third and final book in The Blogger Diaries series and must be read after the first two in order to fully appreciate and understand not only the time Kayla had to wait but the levels of drama/hell in which she had to go through - all to find her happily ever after. The term "spine of steel" could be used to describe Kayla and how she chooses to take the high road and become a single mom knowing her daughter will be enough for her.

Kayla has been through the wringer the last few years after meeting the love of her life and subsequently being rejected by him due to a nasty case of "still needs to grow-up a bit". Having no choice she moves back home and settles into a comfortable life with a heart that has never really healed from "the one". Kayla reluctantly starts a new relationship hoping to feel again all the while knowing her heart's still in Texas with the man who isn't ready for an "us" yet.

Trying anything at all to fix her broken heart Kayla agrees to marry Gavin and have a child fairly quickly hoping to fix that emptiness she feels inside. While the marriage never really stood a chance the love for her daughter is Kayla's saving grace and literally the only thing that rescues her from all the negative thoughts about herself and her situation. Kayla knows in the long run she may have been a sucky wife to Gavin but she is an awesome mom to Josalyn!

Not only does Kayla succeed in what she does but she excels in it by finishing school / divorcing Gavin / moving out all on her own. Kayla has the help of her loved one's of course and thank god for that because her family is a supportive bunch and she is able to blossom and spread her wings then she receives a phone call on Thanksgiving from the manchild (Jason) and he states he is now a grown up...

Jason has come such a long way from book one as a scared to commit guy that finally decides what and who he wants. I was so astonished by the one-eighty Jason's maturity level did. I swear it was almost like I was proud of him (even in tears at times) in this book where old-Jason would have had a chance to tuck tail and run this new-Jason did the exact opposite and not only loved Kayla but Josalyn too.

It was such an unique experience to read about the love affair that was "stranger than fiction" and I for one can say that while they definitely took the long route to their HEA the view when they got there is beautiful, unrivaled and cherished always since Kayla's "Wish Came True" she will never let it be taken for granted :)

REVIEWED BY JILL

“Sorry, babe. I tried. But the drinkin’ we’re doing… I can’t not smoke,” he tells me regretfully.

“It’s no big deal. I have friends who only smoke when they drink. I’m gonna have to scrub every inch of myself before I hold Josalyn, but I’m sure I’m going to need a shower after tonight anyways,” I allude, lifting a brow in his direction.

“Oh, yeah? Why’s that?” he coaxes, lighting himself another cigarette since I’m not giving him this one back.

“Because I plan on getting very dirty with you,” I breathe, and I manage to hold a straight face for a full ten seconds before I burst out laughing. “Oh, my God. That was so fucking corny. I should be ashamed of myself. I need another drink.” I swallow the last of my fruity drink, making a loud sucking sound when my straw hits nothing but ice and air. He chuckles and lifts my glass out of my hand, leaving me long enough to return with it freshly filled.

“You always were my favorite,” I say, taking a swig of the yummy concoction. I hollow out my cheeks, shaking my head and squeezing my eyes shut tight. “Hoo-ahhh… that’s much stronger when it doesn’t have melted ice diluting it. That, and this is the most I’ve had to drink in almost eighteen months. Looks like my little one will be getting a bottle in the middle of the night.”

“Yeah, that’s going to be your last one for a while. It’s barely dark outside, and we still have a whole night of fun to get through,” he tells me, and I squint one eye as I look up at him, take a dramatic pull off my cigarette, and blow it up in his direction.

“It’s your turn, sugar tits,” I chide, and he laughs and bends down, mumbling against my lips, “Hey, that’s my line,” before going to make his shot.

KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she picked up her mom's Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went to college to become a writer, but then married and had babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom, who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads.
From there, by word of mouth, her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a Senior Editor for Hot Tree Editing. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series, The Blogger Diaries, her very own real life romance.
