“This book devastated me in the most wonderful way,” raves Meredith Wild. In Sugar Daddy, the New York Times bestselling author of the Cold Fury series proves that vengeance is sweet—but seduction is to die for.

Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.

The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.

Note: Sugar Daddy ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story continues in Sugar Rush and Sugar Free!

REVIEWED BY JILL

4.5 stars for the first book in a erotically and emotionally charged romantic suspense by the super talented Sawyer Bennett. This is the first book in a trilogy and it does end in a very dramatic cliffhanger, but books two and three have already been announced so I dove right in and enjoyed the ride. Sensitive subject material is discussed that could result in emotional triggers.

Sela Halstead is a twenty-six-year-old college student working on her master's degree in the Counseling Psychology Program at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Ten years ago a horrific event changed the course of her life and caused Sela to become a shell of her former self. After a cry for help and intense therapy Sela is able to exist but not truly form any type of attachment.

While studying with her semi-regular hook-up she catches a random news clip about the wildly successful Sugar Bowl. A place where men -- Sugar Daddies -- pay a $1000 yearly fee to be paired with women -- Sugar Babies -- they enter into a monogamous relationship, for a set amount of time, where the woman is taken care of in all ways, except for sex but of course everyone knows the sex does indeed happen...often. The thing is the proprietors of the Sugar Bowl couldn't advertise that sex is for sale because in the great state of California that is called  prostitution.

One of the two owners of the Sugar Bowl catches Sela's eye and she puts a diabolic plan into action literally transforming herself into a different person. Sela is determined to deliver retribution for what she went through so long ago and will do whatever and whoever it takes to find it...

This book was a non-stop ride of what-happens-next and while Sela is technically out to do a bad thing, you are routing for her the entire time. Can't wait for Sugar Rush to see what happens next :)
