Amie's Review of Hurt Me by Jeri Williams ~ RELEASE BLITZ ~ GIVEAWAY ~

Book: Hurt Me
Author: Jeri Williams
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis

Hurt Me the second book in the Me novel series that continues Deklan and Harley's journey from Breathe Me.
What happens when you wake up from the nightmare that you’ve been living? Do you start living a happy normal life, one that you’ve always dreamed of, or do you start a new nightmare?
Harley did it. She survived, thanks to Deklan, but now...she is left with hard truths and different emotions; what she thought was the end, was only the beginning. Harley has to navigate through these changes while deciding on who she is and where she fits in Deklan’s life because she is coming to learn that when someone saves you, even from yourself, you hero worship them. You hero worship them so much they become your everything. Their wants turn into your needs, their needs into your obsessions, their obsessions into your life. Finally you come to a point where this worshiping, this obsession, will either heal you or hurt you.
Will Harley be healed from her past or hurt by it?

Author Bio

Jeri Williams lives a super fabulous lifestyle (by fabulous, she means kinda lame) in the hot Florida sun and loves reading of any kind (except instruction manuals and cereal boxes). She has always written stories and made her family listen to them since she was young, although this is her first book she has ever published. She is a mom of an up-and-coming Jerry Seinfeld (in girl form) and also enjoys being right and knowing everything, although she is hardly ever right and really doesn't know anything and is obsessed with inventing miniature zoo animals you can carry around in your pocket (although not really).

REVIEW
AMIE'S 5 STAR REVIEW

WOW a great continuation - another emotional and heartbreaking read about Harley and Deklan. We have known since book 1 just how broken they both were , it was questionable at times if they would be able to make it through. Oddly enough in the midst of their chaos they discover how deep their feelings run and finally find a way to express the right emotions and heal each other.

Harley is still recovering from her attempt after her mothers last attack. She has moved with Deklan and although it is taking a long time he is slowly making progress getting her out of the darkness , or so he thinks. When his brother Matt rolls into town the story takes a twist. Harley's life is about to change , maybe for the best , yet she has no skills for coping besides those that harm herself and threaten those that love her. Deklan has his own issues and Harley's actions spur him into his own path of self destruction. Ironically the once broken relationship with his brother may be what saves him or at least brings him to realize how to handle Harley.

Again it is emotional and full of triggers for those who have suffered abuse. Harley and Deklan have an explosive relationship and it makes sense for them to find comfort in each others pain. If you are looking for characters that rise out of the ashes and take control of their lives you may be disappointed - Deklan finally gets a handle on his past and now his future but Harley is a different story. She is still the sad and depressed girl we met in book one and unless you understand her pain  I am sure you won't be able to handle her. She is not easy to deal with , you want to wake her and shake her out of it but there is only one thing that can do that and one person who has that power. If only he knew how simple it would have been maybe he could have done it sooner !! It is crazy how much these two go through in the short span of time they have known each other. They hardly know anything about the other yet they cling to one another. Will they finally get their HEA ??
