4 stars for - Truth Revealed - the second book in the Confessions Duet by K.D. Robichaux. Book one - Before The Lie - must be read prior to enjoying this book as it picks up ten years after book one's cliffhanger ending left us reeling. While book one was a rather sweet telling of Corbin & Vivian falling in love, book two leads us into full on BDSM and Corbin's more dominant nature so reader discretion is advised.
Vivian as we learn through flashbacks became a very successful author of BDSM erotica. While she has tried over the years to date she has never really connected with anyone longer than a few months. She lives alone in an apartment and spends all day writing or promoting her books via social media. Vi has made a contact at a local BDSM club in Texas that has answered any and all questions for the last year in regards to the D/s lifestyle she writes about. Vi considers herself "friends" with - Seven - the Dom who has been so helpful and made plans to meet him at the club he co-owns with his friends.
Corbin we also learn through flashbacks never stopped watching over his ex-wife. He also earned more medals of honor than he knew what to do with and became an expert marksman. Finally after being injured one too many times he was given his discharge papers from the Army. A friend and fellow Dom got in contact with him with a proposition for a security business and about owning the club. Since both were located in Texas close to Vi he decided he had nothing to lose and went all in. What he didn't expect was to walk into his club and see Vi sitting at the bar.
On a whole this was a great story with smoking hot chemistry, passion and kink. I adored Corbin's friends and hope they all get stories of their own. Admittedly some things wrapped up a bit too tidy to seem real, but the author had the levity to point it out which I certainly commend. Will look for more from this author in the future.
