Jill's Review of Outsider by Olivia Cunning ~ RELEASE BLITZ ~

Outsider Blurb

Reagan Elliot should be living her dream…

She’s touring with Exodus End as their new rhythm guitarist and gaining more notoriety and fame than she ever imagined possible.

She’s earned the devoted love of not only one, but two spectacular men. Her committed threesome with sexy guitarist Trey Mills and her hunky bodyguard Ethan Conner is stable, loving, deep, and satisfying for all involved.

But sometimes the world sees things differently and is determined to destroy what it doesn’t understand.

Can Reagan’s relationship with Trey and Ethan survive the cruel backlash of the media, her family, and a bigoted public? Or will the talented musician lose everything she holds dear in the face of her own burgeoning doubts?

Outsider is the second book in the Exodus End World Tour series. It’s also the sequel to Double Time, the fifth book in the Sinners on Tour series.

REVIEWED BY JILL

3.5 stars for Outsider - the second book in the Exodus End series and it is also the second book that features the triad that we fell in love with in Double Time. I highly recommend having read Double Time prior to this book so you are familiar with the relationship they have but it is not actually necessary and can be read as a stand-alone. This book takes place on the tail end of the American tour just prior to them leaving for Europe. We get to see all the Sinners and their significant others too as this is also the same time Sid/Jessica are getting married. This book is a MMF love fest with tons of MM action so please be aware that Trey Mills and Ethan Conner together are explosive, but not for the faint of heart.
This book picks up shortly after their last book ended with Exodus End & Sinners on a US tour and while the three of them have found ultimate bliss behind closed doors Trey can't help but want more from his two lovers. Trey has always had the loving support of his family and has no idea what it means to not be accepted for who his is and really can't understand how or why Reagan and Ethan both chose to keep their relationship under wraps. Trey wants his partners happy though so he goes along with their wishes even if he doesn't agree with them.
Ethan is from a very large, religious family and his step-father and six brothers will never understand how he could be in a relationship with both a man and a woman so he hides that part of himself from his family and rarely visits them in his home state of Texas. Yet when he started this arrangement with Reagan and Trey he never planned on falling in love yet that's exactly what happened.
All Reagan Elliot ever wanted to do was play music and she got the opportunity of a lifetime to play for Exodus End which lead her to Trey Mills. Trey just so happens to require some things Reagan can't give him, but when Ethan - her best friend / roommate / ex-boyfriend offered to help her out - things became crystal clear for everyone involved. The only problem is Reagan doesn't want to be the topic of every gossip columnist in the country nor does she want her father to know what she does behind closed doors.
This book was long... like really long at over 400 pages and at times it felt like things were dragging a bit especially in regards to Reagan. I truly liked her in book one and thought she was solid, but in this book it almost got to the point where I couldn't stand her. Ethan wasn't much better for about 75% of the book and then he finally redeemed himself (at least in my eyes). I can emphatically thank the Lord for the Mills family though! Trey and his big brother - Dare literally stole every scene they were in from touching to funny those two nailed it every time. Then their parents Gwen - the hippie artist and George - the plastic surgeon to the stars also weighed in with advice, unconditional love and a solid example of what a HEA should be. With all the band dynamics up in the air and them flying out of the country who the heck knows what will happen next, but quirky drummer Steve is up next.
