Jill's Review of Ghost by A. Zavarelli ~ RELEASE BLITZ ~ GIVEAWAY ~

Ghost by A. Zavarelli
Series: Boston Underworld #3

Release Date: August 27th, 2016

I have always been a bird. Caged by one prison or another when the only thing I ever wanted was to fly away.
Sold. Beaten. Starved. Drugged.
Nothing scares me anymore.
Until him.
He makes the numbness go away.
He is hazardous to me. It has nothing to do with his mafia lifestyle, and everything to do with what he offers.
A gilded prison.
A retreat from everything that I once knew. The reality I have no desire to return to.
He thinks he’s caged me, but soon…
I’m going to fly.

I live by a code. The Vory code.
In this mafiya world, there are traditions.
She does not care for these things. She does not care about anything.
She thinks she has me fooled with her haunted eyes.
What she can’t know is that I see her better than most.
She wants to fly.
But I’m going to clip her wings.
And make her my wife.

CROW, Book #1:
REAPER, Book #2:

Five huge stars for the third book in the Boston Underworld Series that can be read as a stand alone but this series is nothing short of spectacular so I highly recommend reading all of the books in the series. Where books one and two feature Lachlan and Ronan - men from the Irish mob - this book is all about their close friend/associate -Alexei - a Russian mobster and the woman he is hired to find. This story is NOT for the faint of heart and deals with very dark/disturbing topics. Reader beware...

Talia Parker was working at a club owned by the Irish mob when she was kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery by her so called boyfriend at the time. Being violated over and over again broke Talia in ways that can never be healed. She would rather disappear  altogether then live the life she has been living but the man that rescued her has other plans in store for her...

Alexei Nikolaev is known as Ghost by the Vory. Alexei can access/hack any computer system that he needs to get information from and let's nothing stand in his way. So when he is tasked with finding Lachlan's wife closest friend, he finds her via the computer first and then he swooped in to bring her back stateside.

This book was much darker than the other two but still so very good. With complex, multi-dimensional characters that are so damaged yet you still are hoping they will find some happiness and peace, but know it's a long shot after all the nightmares they lived through. Can't wait to see who she writes about next :)

A. Zavarelli is a romance book junkie, cat lover, and traveler when plagued by intense cases of wanderlust. She likes all things chocolate, books that come with warnings, and pretty much any kind of characters that are dark and gritty. You can find more about her on her website.
