HARD TO SERVE EXCERPT – A dare:
So many readers asked for more stories in my bestselling Hard Ink series, and I’m so excited to be able to give you just that in my new, super sexy HARD TO SERVE! HARD TO SERVE is an edgy stand-alone love story about a Baltimore police detective whose red-hot BDSM relationship with a new submissive seems like the perfect distraction from a trumped-up investigation against him until he learns that the woman is his boss’s daughter. Talk about sparks flying! I had so much fun writing this book, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it! And if you enjoy it, you might like to check out the whole Hard Ink series, now complete! Happy reading!
Sitting on the little, private loveseat at the back of the big bar area, nervous anticipation jangled through Mia. “So…about you being an asshole…”
Chuckling, Kyler took her hand and winked. “Yes, about that. I’m sorry, because I’d like to see you again.”
The room spun around her, despite the fact that she was sitting perfectly still. But then she shook her head. “I can’t afford it.” She’d received the offer of full membership, but between the cost and how she and Master Kyler had left things, she hadn’t even given it a second thought.
“I’m not talking about Blasphemy, Mia. Well, not just Blasphemy. I’m talking about me and you.” He traced his finger over her thigh close to her knee.
She shivered, as much from the touch as from the words. “Me and you,” she repeated.
“Sounds even better when you say it,” he said, leaning in and nuzzling her face. He kissed her temple, her cheek, the corner of her mouth. “I just need you to know, I don’t do this, Mia. Any of this. Because I’ve never before met anyone who made me want to do it. And I’m not even sure I’ll be any good at it. But this last week has been fucking miserable, and I—”
She’d heard enough. Enough to know what she wanted. She kissed him. Planted her hands in his hair and kissed him so damn hard.
The growl he unleashed sounded like pure victory, especially when he quickly took over, plundering her mouth with his tongue, hauling her onto his lap so that she straddled him. He tugged her hair, rubbed hard hands over her body, pressed his erection up against her wet panties.
“Oh, God,” she rasped around the edge of the kiss.
“Fucking missed you,” he said, his hands finally touching her breasts, kneading and squeezing through the thin cotton of the little bronze-colored dress. “Fucking need you.”
“I need you, too,” she rasped, grinding against his erection. Her blood was molten, and a sheen of sweat broke out over her body. She was already so close.
“Don’t come,” he ordered. His big palm slipped under the flowy pleats of her dress and gripped her ass. Hard. “You do not have permission to come.”
She whimpered, because the command shoved her in that direction, just like he must’ve known it would. The sexy bastard. “Please, Sir. Please.”
He nailed her with a stare, his eyes dark blue fire. “You want to come, Mia?”
A fast nod. “Yes, Sir.”
“You want to come, you do it on my cock.”
For a second, Mia couldn’t breathe, because she wasn’t sure she’d ever been so turned on in her whole life. “Here? Now?”
Kyler just looked at her, one eyebrow arched in a challenge, a dare.
About HARD TO SERVE:
To protect and serve is all Detective Kyler Vance ever wanted to do, so when Internal Affairs investigates him as part of the new police commissioner’s bid to oust corruption, everything is on the line. Which makes meeting a smart, gorgeous submissive at an exclusive play club the perfect distraction…
The director of the city’s hottest art gallery, Mia Breslin’s career is golden. Now if only she could find a man to dominate her nights and set her body—and her heart—on fire. When a scorching scene with a hard-bodied, brooding Dom at Blasphemy promises just that, Mia is lured to serve Kyler again and again.
As their relationship burns hotter, Kyler runs into Mia at work and learns that he’s been dominating the daughter of the hard-ass boss who has it in for him. Now Kyler must choose between life-long duty and forbidden desire before Mia finds another who’s not so hard to serve.

REVIEW
Hard To Serve is not only a part of the 1001 Dark Nights it is also a Hard Ink novella, but it can be read completely separate from the action packed, erotically charged series by the sensational Laura Kaye. This book is set primarily in a BDSM club where kinky things are the norm therefore please be advised it is chock full of what some may find offensive.
Mia Breslin is new to Baltimore after finishing grad school and coming to work as a director in a popular gallery. Finally getting settled prior to the opening of her newest exhibit Mia decides to start her two week temporary membership at Blasphemy -a BDSM club - to hopefully find a much needed release. Mia is observing the many different options for play when she is enchanted by a man that takes her breath away. Mia feels the need to submit to him from across the room so she can just imagine how it would develop in a scene.
Kyler Vance is still recovering from a gunshot wound to his shoulder which is forcing him to be restricted to desk duty instead of his normal detective duties in the Baltimore police department. Riding a desk is bad enough but then news of being investigated by the new police commissioner and internal affairs for corruption pushes Kyler to his limits. Needing a distraction he heads to Blasphemy to help work out all his frustration. Soon after arriving Kyler is captivated by a newbie named Mia and after getting to know her a bit he has one of the best scenes ever, but he doesn't do relationships. Now days later Kyler is still thinking about Mia and for the first time ever wondering about those rules of his...
This was a intense, smoking hot romance condensed into just over a hundred pages. With a check-in on our Hard Ink guys and an opportunity for more books from characters at Blasphemy (Griffin and Quinton please) the possibilities are endless :)
