Sheri's Review of Unexpected Allies by Peyton banks

Title: Unexpected Allies
Series: The Tokhan Bratva Book 1
Author: Peyton Banks
Genre: Contemporary/Mafia Romance
Release Date: March 13, 2018
She was a bad b*tch—Her name sparked fear in those that had the nerve to run from her. Mila Petrovna was a soldier in the Tokhan Bratva, the most powerful crime family in New York City, run by her brother. She collected debts on behalf of her brother and the Bratva. It was Mila who ensured that the Bratva had deadly soldiers to fight. But who would be there to ensure that she was protected?
He’d had his eyes on her for a while. He knew that he shouldn’t want her but he was drawn to her. She was the sister of his rival and that should have meant that she would be off limits. Kole Bozovic was a man who knew what he wanted and went after it. After a brief meeting, he made the decision—she would be his.
The two were thrown together in the middle of a war and lines would be drawn. He’d laid a claim on her and no one would take what was his, even if they tried. War made one realize that some things were best left in the past. If they were to survive, they would have to work together.

REVIEWED BY SHERI

No one has ever came close to catching Mila Petrovna's eye. Finding love in a world of organized crime isn't easy. Who wants a girl that has not only has a mind of her own, tough as nails and is one of the best Mob Enforcers in all of New York? But Mila's world will soon be rocked when a rival mobster crosses paths with the stunning Russian beauty.

Kole Bozovic is not only part of the same lifestyle as Mila, he appreciates what and who Mila has to be. Now only if she wasn't from a rival family, maybe then he could have her. He isn't afraid of Mila like most men, Hell Kole thrives on her antics. There is just something about this girl that gets him going. But when her brother (NYC Leading Mob Boss) tries to take over Kole's operation, Mila is far from his mind. Kole must keep control and won't let his attraction for a girl bring down his business .

However, Both Mila and Kole's world will soon get turned upside down when a hit is taken out on the Russian Enforcer and the safest place to hide is with her most powerful enemy. Who would expect Mila to hide out with Kole? With her brothers and fathers blessing, Kole vows to keep her safe anyway he sees fit. However the one thing that neither one of them thought would happen would be the feeling that develop between the two. Both become close, boundaries get crossed and promises are made, the only question is can both families except their circumstances? or will they have to make their own way?

I absolutely loved this book. It was the first book by Peyton Banks that I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing and I can't wait until the next one in this series comes out.  I am a HUGE family of mobster series and especially Russian Mobster series and Peyton didn't disappoint. Her writing is fresh and the fact that she made the Mob's Enforcer a female is great. Mila is everything that a bass ass should be. She is strong, can kick butt and gives just as good as she takes. She gives Kole a run for his money but with a equally strong alpha-male character, Kole can not only keep up but not give in. I loved how Kole at some parts took the ragging from Mila but then when it was time, he laid down the law and our fearless female listened.

Great book and the knowledge that there will be at least two more books in this series really is great.

4 star review.

Peyton Banks is the alter ego of a city girl who is a romantic at heart. Her mornings consist of coffee and daydreaming up the next steamy romance book ideas. She loves spinning romantic tales of hot alpha males and the women they love. She currently resides with her husband and children in Cleveland, Ohio.
