book blurb

I watch.
I study.
I prowl.
I hunt.

I always go in with a plan. A set of rules for myself. I don’t take unnecessary risks. That’s how I’ve been able to evade capture all these years.

But there’s something about this girl that is different than the others. When I finally meet her, the rules become a blur. And I break the most important one of all—I take her with me.

——-

It’s just my imagination—that feeling of being watched. That those icy eyes— a vivid turquoise with a distinct golden fleck—aren’t watching me.

It’s just stress. I am the person everyone relies on. Maybe that’s why I haven’t been feeling so content with my life lately. Why I dream those eyes belong to someone who can tear me away from all of my responsibilities.

But these are just shameful fantasies, never meant to breach reality.

Then one night, the dream comes true, only it’s a horrific nightmare.

Now, I only have one task: survival.

AMIE'S 5 STAR REVIEW - CRAZY, DARK & TWISTED !!

LOL that trigger warning is priceless - and SO TRUE !! This book is full of crazy , twisted and downright horrible things. I love books like this - for every 5 or so normal books I read I need a couple of these to balance out the sweet !! Even I was horrified a few times and that takes a lot. So if you do not like crazy , violent , abuse , descriptive horrifying scenes and dirty sex - you may want to walk away !! After this I would probably be afraid to meet the author !! She has a twisted mind !!!!

Sam - what can we say about him. The stories you get from his childhood are sad , you feel for him and wish he had the love and nurturing every child deserves. Horrible childhood - father likes the older brother more - he is normal , Sam has issues and the father and brother have always treated him differently. Sam's mom also has some issues but you never know if they are due to Sam or due to life. She tries to hide Sam away and she is kind of freaky about it !! Sam has an obsession with watching people and planning his nightly adventures so he never gets caught. Between his injuries and his speech issues the mask and silence make it easy for him to do this. There is one girl , one person he watches more than the rest , he is obsessed and the desire for her is different than any other. On the night he plans Vesper's adventure nothing goes as planned and if you thought Sam was twisted before that just wait until you see him in action with Vesper.

Vesper is pretty much as normal as they come - pretty , driven and on her way to becoming a nurse. She has the perfect boyfriend and despite the fact that her brother has special needs he is the light of her life. Her mom has always had better things to do than be a parent so Vesper cares for her brother and doesn't do much else. She feels like she is being watched , she sees the beautiful eyes , she thinks of him when she shouldn't but that all changes one night when they come mask to face. Vesper may be Sam's obsession BUT that does not make her safe from his twisted ways , if anything she is in more danger than any of his other prey.

Once Vesper and Sam are together things go crazy. You never know who will do what and why. Vesper hates the way she feels , Sam hates what he does. They both struggle through conflicts and it is painful to read. The shop vac was a bit much for me LOL was glad that went a different way !! I wasn't bothered by Vesper's desire for Sam , I hated when she was hurting but I had hope for some kind of twisted HEA !! I always root for the sick and twisted to find their way and have as normal of a life as they can !! Sam and Vesper definitely have a connection , a chemistry - but heck if I can explain it !!
