OMG I love second chance romances - especially when you get to go back to childhood and see the couple as cute little kids saying the sweetest things !! Of course in reality there are years of heartache and then distance between our 2 main characters BUT it doesn't take long for them to realize nothing has changed when it comes to feelings and desires. If only they spoke up years ago !! 

Lucas was the typical boy next door - he accepted Maddy as one of the boys and even when she grew and changed and fell for him he still acted clueless. He of course went on to be the typical football star and hot guy at school. Everyone around town knew how Maddy felt BUT Lucas never did a thing about it. NOw after years apart they find themselves together at home and Lucas realizes that he never should have treated Maddy the way he did. There is a bit of angst , some heartache , some bad choices and then some serious hotness !! I always love a CAH book because she gives you a bit of everything and wraps it up nicely in a quick read story !! 

I love HEA stories, as long as they come packing a little heat. I need some excitement, some angst, and moments that make me fan my face are always good too. I am an Illinois girl, born and raised. Simple and true, it honestly doesn’t take much to make me happy. I love the little things; they truly mean the most. I may have a slight addiction to my new Keurig—oh my, that thing is a godsend. And so fast too. I have two children who truly are my very best friends, and their faces never fail to put a smile on my face. I have been married to my husband for sixteen years, and even though at times I want to beat him with a stick, I would never change the years we have had. 4 stars for - On The Plus Side - book two in The Perfect Fit series by Alison Bliss. This is a new to me author and I truly enjoyed her work. I found this story fun, flirty and a bit sexy too. While I did not read book one - Size Matters - prior to this one, I do plan on going back and reading it now, as those characters seemed like people I would like just as much as these. Falling in love with your big brother's best friend is never easy, but when your brother is the most over-protective man ever - it is even worse.
Valerie Carmichael is a beautiful, confident woman who is very comfortable in her curvy body. She has no problem finding people to date, it's her big brother that tends to run them off. While she loves her brother dearly she can't stand his near constant hovering when it comes to her love life. So agreeing to attend the opening of his best friend's new bar was something she really wasn't looking forward to. One look at Logan has all those old feelings rushing back filling Valerie with a need only he can fulfill.
Logan Mathis is back in Granite to open his new bar and help his mom out. Logan needs to do whatever he can to make sure the bar is a success and watching his best friend's little sister work the crowd seems to be the answer. What Logan didn't plan on was succumbing to his desires for her and risking his friendship with her brother in the process.
Loved this story of friendship, love and loyalty in a small town in Texas. With characters that were both funny and charming the book kept me engaged from start to finish. Hopefully we will get both Max and Brett's stories as it would be so fun to watch them fall :)

Valerie Carmichael needed a drink. A strong one. Because it was the only way she envisioned herself getting through the night.
An elbow nudged into her side, bringing her thoughts back to the crowded bar. “I can’t see anything through all of these people,” Brett said, scanning the room with his eyes. “Come on, let’s go to the other side so I can get a better view.”
Sighing, Valerie trudged behind him without a word.
When Brett had asked her to attend the grand opening of Bottoms Up, a new bar in their hometown of Granite, Texas, she’d hesitated to say yes. Sure, she was curious what the inside of the recently remodeled bar looked like and had no doubt the place would be jam-packed with handsome, available men. But it was still the last place on earth she wanted to be.
She knew better than to hang out in bars with her older and only—thank God—brother. Every time she’d done so in the past, the nights had always ended the same way.
