REVIEWED BY JILL

4.5 stars for - The Risk - book two in the Briar U series by Elle Kennedy. This is a spin-off/next generation to the epic Off-Campus series with many characters we have adored for years finally getting their chance at love. This enemies-to-lovers romance is nothing short of fantastic and it hits on every emotion you’ve got to take you on one heck of a ride.
Brenna is in her last year of school and hoping to score an internship with a sports news station. Brenna normally has no problem getting attention from men and uses it to her advantage whenever possible but the man is a sexist jerk. Wanting to work as a sports journalist will require her to develop a thick skin around prickly athletes but she knows her stuff and was hoping to be able to get her foot in the door before having her hopes dashed so quickly.
Jake Connelly is the team captain for Harvard’s hockey team. He recently signed a deal with Edmonton to play next season in the NHL but his immediate goal is to crush Briar U in the Frozen Four and bring a championship to Harvard. A dark eyed vixen is standing in his way to success and he will do whatever it takes to come out on top. The thing is, he’s pretty sure he wants to be on top of her too no matter how many times they tell each other how bad of an idea it is...
