His lips told me he knew me.
His lips told me he knew me.
His hands touched like old lovers.
His eyes held secrets of a past I’d never known.
I was lost you see.
Lost as the flowers that grew in the meadow.
The devil told me he knew me.
But lies had a way of unraveling, even if we didn’t want them to.
The devil had a trick, for his love was full of acid. Acid that burnt at every touch, every linger, and I let it burn all the way to my core.
A devil made you sin. And my devil was the worst.
But now that devil wanted my last kiss, and it wasn't one I was willing to give.
He could take the acid and leave the burn behind.
I was keeping my heart, even if I died trying.

AMIE'S 5 STAR REVIEW
I have missed reading TL so much !! I love me some dark and twisted and she knows how to deliver. The cover is beautiful but there is no beauty in this book without pain , hate and danger. Jaya has grown up without her mom and a dad that is stuck in the past and cannot let go. There is very little love or connection between her and her father so she goes on to find that somewhere else. She meets Toska at work and they become friends. At first I thought Toska was the normal one, imagine that !!!! With Toska comes her brother Syler, he has been with her always and they have been through some horrible stuff. They have done horrible things together and not only is Syler dark and mysterious but he is almost completely silent. That is of course until he meets the intriguing little mouse Jaya. After Jaya spends a night out with them you would think she would stay as far away as she can BUT she is addicted to them, especially Syler. Toska becomes a bit much to handle and you come to see that her obsession with Jaya was all to fulfill some sick need made worse by the fact that her brother desires Jaya. There is some serious detailed violence and drug use. Syler and Jaya can get pretty heated and some of the behavior between them can seem abusive so there is definitely triggers. BUT if you love dark, twisted and suspenseful this is your book !! And how about Betty... she really had me on edge !!
