He was the myth and the legend of our small town. But no one
knew the truth... except me.
Me
My childhood was stolen by a monster. I’ve forgotten what
love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb.
Him
He’s possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred
just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn’t speak. He
doesn’t smile. He hides in the woods like an animal. I should be scared of him. But I’m not. He’s
the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too.
everything...

REVIEWED BY JILL
4 stars for - Tied - book two in the Devil's Wolves series by Carian Cole. This book can be read completely separate from the series as they are stand-alones. Two people who have been through some of the worst things you could ever imagine find an unlikely friendship in each other. This story deals with issues of a sensitive nature so reader discretion is advised however the author dealt with them in a very sensitive and discreet way not dwelling on the specifics at all - instead choosing to focus on the healing.
Holly Daniels was eight years old when she was walking home from school with her friend and abducted in broad daylight. The man who took Holly kept her locked in a basement and forcibly molested her for ten years until she was rescued. She was being held underground in the woods when her "prince" with the colorful arms and electric blue eyes found her and saved her.
Tyler Grace is a certified recluse, making it a point to stay away from both the town and his family. While walking through the woods he hears an odd sound coming from underneath him and discovers a beautiful but filthy girl and dog trapped in a hole. As soon as he lifts both the girl and her dog to safety her kidnapper makes a sudden appearance and Tyler is forced to defend her.
This was an emotional roller coaster with angst, heartache and so much love it truly gave you all the feels. Holly and Tyler's love was all consuming and what all her fairytales said they would be in the end. Can't wait for the rest of the Grace family to get their stories as they are a large, diverse group that has so much to say. Meeting both Tesla and Tanner in this book has me anxiously anticipating the next in the series and we can always hope that the author takes pity on us with the possibility of more Holly and Tyler down the road :)
