Amie's Review of Twist by Kylie Scott

From New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott comes the second sizzling stand-alone novel in the Dive Bar series!

When his younger brother loses interest in online dating, hot bearded bartender Joe Collins only intends to log into his account and shut it down. Until he reads about her. Alex Parks is funny, fascinating, and pretty much everything he's been looking for in a woman—except that she lives across the country. Soon they're emailing up a storm and telling each other their deepest, darkest secrets...except the one that really matters. When Alex pays Joe a surprise visit, however, they both discover that when it comes to love, it's always better with a twist.

I enjoyed reading about Joe and Alex. I thought it was funny how the author incorporated the world of online dating and long distance into a story about finding love. Sometimes we look for the perfect match and we may miss out on so many other chances because of what we think we want. Joe may not have been truthful but they both have their faults and in the grand scheme of things he never imagined his Alex to show up at the party !! Eric is that over the top ego kind of guy so it made it easy for us to fall for Joe and it seems Alex realized right away that although she may have thought she knew Eric it was only his picture that was what she knew. Joe was Joe during their chats as much as he possibly could have been. So what could have been a simple fix  turns into an issue when Alex gets sick and has to stay in town alone with nobody to help her out. Of course we know who will step up to the plate and it certainly is not Eric because from book 1 we know he has himself in a crazy situation as it is !! As an innocent friendship builds between Joe and Alex you can't help but want her to stay and give him a chance. Joe is nothing but amazing taking care of her AND trying to right the wrongs, throw the guy a bone would ya !! Due to the nature of Alex's work opportunities arise for her and Joe to mix business and pleasure. Will Alex open up her heart ?? As the story gets deeper and feelings start to shift tragedy strikes and the shoe then ends up on the other foot. Can Alex now be for Joe what he was for her ?? What will happen with Joe and Alex ?
