REVIEWED BY JILL
4.5 stars for - Misadventures Of A City Girl - by Chelle Bliss and Meredith Wild. This book was not at all what I was expecting and I read it start to finish in one day! I have read and enjoyed both of these ladies and have no idea if they have ever thought of collaborating previously, but they are a force to be reckoned with on this one and I sure hope they consider writing more together in the future.
Madison Atwood is newly divorced after being publicly humiliated by her high school sweetheart turned Hollywood actor husband. Deciding to take a month away from all things Los Angeles she drives hours away to the mountains of Northern California to unplug / recharge at a hot springs retreat. While relaxing in the springs and avoiding everyone she possibly can a mountain of a man stumbles upon her at the most inopportune moment. Instead of being scared of him she finds herself fascinated by the grizzly man and wanting to get to know him better.
Luke Dawson is the very definition of recluse. He lives on the mountain above the hot springs retreat and comes into town only to get supplies when he absolutely needs to. He lives off the land and chooses to interact with only a handful of people so when the gorgeous woman from the hot springs shows up at his cabin he has a decision to make. Luke lives his life a certain way for a reason and Madison showing up just threw a monkey wrench in all his plans...
I absolutely loved this story of two broken people healing each other and finding that middle ground that leads to their HEA.
