Amie's Review of Here To Stay by Suanne Laqueur

"You can't sort of do this, Fish. Draw a line and get on one side or the other... "

Love is never so sweet as when it receives a second chance. In the sequel to her award-winning novel The Man I Love, Suanne Laqueur continues the story of Erik Fiskare's romance with Daisy Bianco. Though separated for twelve years, the extraordinary bond forged in their youth has endured. But when your soulmate has caused you indescribable pain, how easy is it to forgive? How much trust is needed to place your heart back into the hands that once broke it? How much faith does it take to ask the question, "Do you still want me?" and believe in the reply: "I still want us."

Erik and Daisy commit to creating a new life together. They are separated by geography, loyal to career commitments and burdened with lingering pain from a decade spent apart. Yet despite the challenges, Erik knows Daisy is the best thing to happen to him twice.

Slowly Erik earns back Daisy's love as well as the trust of his incomparable friend, Will Kaeger. Both relationships grow deeper and more complex, as do Erik's ties to the past. Unexpected contact with distant cousins offers new insight to the cruel childhood desertion that shaped so much of Erik's adult life. With Daisy at his side, he travels back to his hometown to meet his people, explore his family's history and learn about the men who wore his heirloom necklace before him.

The cathedral once burned down is rebuilt. But a love affair is never a finished thing. Life is never without its tragedies. Daisy and Erik soon face a threat more harrowing than gunfire, more sorrowful than the lost years. With Will at his back and family close by, Erik must fight for the things he once walked away from and prove his love is here to stay.

Holy wow this author has done me in yet again - review to come once I recover from the emotional mayhem I have been in for days!!

So here I am sort of recovered and ready to tell the world to READ THIS SERIES NOW !!
This is the last act , the final scene the road to forever for Daisy and Erik !! He has come back but this does not mean the journey is over.  Now together again - Erik , Daisy , Will and Lucky - we travel with them while they heal from their pasts and recover from the long years of separation. Erik sees what he has missed out on and tries to fix his wrongs and make up for lost time. They all go through more struggles and help each other heal. It is painful , emotional yet so very healing. We meet Erik's family and learn of their past and also learn much about his father. We get a front row seat to Erik and Daisy rekindling their long lost love. The connection is still so strong and the emotion is so very real.  Now as adults they face even more struggle yet this time they are together. Not just Erik and Daisy but Will and Lucky as well. This core four really are an inspiration. Brace yourself because this journey may seem different yet it is just as hard as the one before. Again I cannot express in words just how touching and amazing this author is. The details , the emotion she brings to life it is so much to take in yet I found myself craving more. Never once did I lose faith in what would be because I knew regardless of how it ended Suanne would never leave us hanging. This time around Erik and Daisy were going to finish their story and create their HEA no matter what life threw at them !! AMEN !! LOL !!

Amie's Review of Give Me Your Answer True by Suanne Laqueur

"What I feel has no name..."

Suanne Laqueur's award-winning debut novel The Man I Lovethrilled readers with its memorable characters and depth of emotion. Erik Fiskare's journey of love, recovery and forgiveness captivated hearts but also left questions unanswered. Now Daisy Bianco has a chance to tell her story.

It's been three years since a single lapse of judgment cost Daisy the love of her life. Erik was a conduit to her soul but now he's chosen a path of total disconnection, refusing to speak to her or acknowledge her betrayal. Alone and shattered, Daisy attempts to take responsibility for her actions while building her career as a professional dancer in New York City. But Erik's unforgiving estrangement proves too much for her strength. Plagued by flashbacks to the Lancaster shootings, she falls into a dangerous spiral of self-harm, cutting into her own skin as a means to atone. Only the timely appearance of an old friend, John "Opie" Quillis, saves her from self-destruction and gives her a chance to love again.

Laqueur skillfully weaves flashbacks to the college years with Daisy's present life. Supported by John's patient affection, she works to separate her evolution as an adult from the unresolved guilt and grief of her youth. As her professional accomplishments lift her out of depression, Daisy learns to hold onto her accountability without letting it become her identity. Years pass and she builds a beautiful life filled with dance and friends. Lovers come and eventually go, leaving her on her own with the old thought: Come back to me.

In this parallel narrative, Laqueur peels open the beloved characters from The Man I Love to reveal new and complex layers of vulnerability. The scars from the shooting are deep and pervasive within this circle of friends. Like Daisy, they are trying to evolve without being fully resolved. But when questions from the past go unheeded, you alone must find and give your answers true.

AMIE'S 5 STAR REVIEW !!

I said all of this after reading The Man I Love BUT just in case anyone missed that review I will say it again !! AMAZING - HEARTFELT - EMOTIONAL - REAL REAL REAL -

This author - Suanne - has a very special and amazing talent. I have never been so drawn into a story before and I found myself taking such time and putting so much effort into each and every word that all 3 of these stories took days and days for me to read. I love reading and I devour books regardless of length and quality but these books I just could not devour quickly. It was so amazing to be wrapped up into their world and I was so thankful to have the time this time around to enjoy a whole week of reading GMYAT and HTS !! This series , these stories are a MUST READ. It has been over a year since I read The Man I Love yet I recall every single scene and emotion. I was not sure I wanted Daisy's story , I was so angry with her and I was feeling so down. I was glad that I gave Daisy this chance. This is not a simple retelling of events from Daisy's POV , this is her journey. We journey with Daisy through therapy and it is during that therapy that we go back to a time where her life was happy and blissful , we then go through chaos with her and then sadly into life after Erik , which I have to say was brutal , more so than Erik's journey. I now understand Daisy so much more and I have to say I was finally angry with Erik, I still love him no doubt and hate what happened but I was upset with how he handled things and once again had to recover from the years of separation. I love male POV and I was thrilled that The Man I Love was told by Erik but now having read Daisy's story and being able to follow so closely with Will , Lucky and some of the others I feel so much more at peace with it all. I was able to indulge with Daisy in fine men and dance , I was able to suffer with her through her dark days and hopelessness and then able to celebrate the possibility of second chances after so many years.

An amazing and beautiful story so full of emotion you will definitely shed tears and pull out hair reading this !!  My reviews will never do justice for this series but I am hoping they will at least intrigue others to read and show my appreciation for the amazing talents Suanne has. I am honored to have answered that email over a year ago and so very honored that Suanne still reaches out to me with news of her stories so I am able to be part of her journey.
