Wendy's Review of Wild With You by Layla Hagen

About WILD WITH YOU

Lori

Planning weddings is my dream job. As a single Mom, I live vicariously through my brides. From picking the dress to cutting the cake, I'm there every step of the way.
When I meet the best man at the latest wedding, sparks fly. Graham Frazier is more than I bargained for. The charismatic soccer club owner is disillusioned with marriage after his divorce, so it's part of my job to make sure he won't slip any sarcastic jokes in his best man's speech.
It's not part of my job to notice his washboard abs, or that he kisses like a dream. Graham's touch is sizzling.
Before I know it, he bosses me into accepting gifts and spending the night at his house (his excuse is good: I can't possibly drive after working a wedding, can I?)
I say yes to both. There are no two ways about it. I have the hots for this bossy man.

Graham

Since my divorce, weddings aren't my favorite events. But when my best friends decide to tie the knot, I promise to throw them a party they won't forget.
I was counting on sitting through long hours of preparations, but I didn't count on meeting someone like Lori Connor.
I pursue her relentlessly, wanting those long legs wrapped around me and her smooth skin under my lips.
Then I meet her son, and that boy charms me even faster than his mother did. Before I know it, he has me wrapped around his little finger.
But are Lori and I ready for our lives to intertwine in ways we haven't even imagined before?

4 stars

This was a sweet read. Layla’s characters and storyline are always so fascinating. Lori is a single mom who does her best to balance her role as mom and breadwinner. However when she meets Graham, the chemistry is scorching. Will she be able to add a potential relationship to the mix? I enjoyed the relationship between Graham and Lori. It was sweet and romantic. They were the cutest couple. I also loved how Graham interacted with Lori’s son Milo-just the best and so involved. Lori and Milo mattered to him and he had no problem showing it. I also loved the dynamic of the Connor family. How they care and interact with each other was just awesome. Wild with You was pure bliss. I enjoyed every single thing about this book. It was fun, delightful, and loving. A wonderful story! I’m excited for Will’s book next :)

Synopsis

From NYT Bestseller Corinne Michaels & USA Today Bestseller Melanie Harlow,
comes a second chance standalone romance.

Ian Chase broke my heart at seventeen, and I’ve spent the last eighteen years hating him for it.
He makes it easy, with his smart mouth and playboy lifestyle—which I unfortunately have to observe since he lives behind me. Every time I see him climbing out of his pool, practically naked and unreasonably sexy, my blood boils.
I’ve always loved to loathe him.
I never planned to need him.
***
London Parish is my little sister’s best friend, not that it stopped me from falling for her.
Our history is complicated. The only thing we have in common is being godparents to my sister’s three adorable kids—until our lives are changed in one tragic moment.
Now we’re trying to raise the children we love, mourn an unthinkable loss, and fight an undeniable attraction.
My life is already upside-down, and the last thing I need is for old feelings to resurface.
Because I’ll never be able to keep her, no matter how hard I try to hold her close.

Amie's Review of Blind Love by Kelly Elliott

SYNOPSIS

Harley and I had our whole lives planned out, until her plans changed, and those plans didn't include me. After years spent trying to get the love of my life out of my head and repair my too-damaged heart, I thought I was finally moving on…but life sure has a funny way of letting you know when those best-laid plans are about to be turned upside down. My entire world was rocked when Harley unexpectedly moved back to Oak Springs. Every miserable moment I'd spent trying to get over her and every hour I'd wasted trying to erase her from my life came back to haunt me the minute she walked into my office, fear in her eyes, and asked me for help. Would I…or better yet, could I walk away from her this time after all that she had put me through? What I really needed to know is would I be able to forge ahead with the future I had so meticulously planned—one that didn't include Harley—or will her return finally open my eyes to a future full of endless possibilities?   Blind Love is book five in the Cowboys and Angels series.

EXCERPT

The knock on my office door had me looking at my watch. Shit. It was seven. “Come in.” The door opened, and Cord walked in. “What in the hell are you still doing here this late?” I shrugged. “I guess if I was being honest with myself, hiding.” He sat down in one of the chairs facing my desk. “From?” “Hell, I don’t know. Everyone.” He nodded. “You want to talk about it?” I dropped my pen onto the desk and scrubbed my hands down my face while leaning back in my chair. “Fuck, Cord. I’m twisted up inside. I’m really trying to give this thing with Mallory a go.” “What’s keeping you from doing that? Her kid?” “No, hell no. I love little Laney. She’s precious, and I honestly hardly ever see her. Mallory is pretty strict about that. I’ll go over to pick them up for dinner or a movie, but I rarely hang out at their house. Mallory says she doesn’t want to confuse Laney.” Cord lifted his brows. “Really? I would think Mallory would want you to get to know each other better.” “Yeah, who knows. Maybe it’s for the best anyway.” “So, what has you holding back?” I stared at him. He already knew the answer. The five-foot-two, gorgeous brunette with the sun-kissed skin, and crystal-clear eyes that sparkled like emeralds was the reason I was so fucked up. “I think you already know.” He smiled. “Harley?” I pointed to him. “Right, as usual.” Pulling in a deep breath, Cord said, “She is looking damn hot. I heard Todd Schneider has been asking her out.” My brows pulled together. “Steed’s old high school buddy?” He nodded. “How do you know this?” “Corina told me.” My jaw dropped. “She told you, but not me?” Tossing his head back, he let out a roar of laughter. “Dude, why in the hell would she tell you?” “I don’t know. Maybe because she’s my best friend, and she knows I dated Harley.” “She also knows, like everyone else in town, that you’re now dating Mallory.” “Still, she should have told me.” “Why? Would it have made a difference to what is happening between you and Mallory?” “To know that Harley is dating? No.” I was getting better at telling myself that lie. Each night I laid in bed and thought about that fucking letter she wrote me. I had torn it up without even reading it. I had regretted it the moment I put it in the shredder. “She said she had Milo in for a check-up, and Todd was in there with his new puppy. She overheard him asking Harley to dinner.” I swallowed hard. “And Harley said no?” He gave me a look that said I was pathetic. “Harley said no.” Letting out the breath I hadn’t even known I was holding, I leaned back in my chair. Cord stared at me. “Tripp, are you over her? Are you really able to say you can move on with another woman?” “If you had asked me that before Harley came back I would have said probably. Maybe.” “That shouldn’t make a difference, Tripp. What does her being back in town have to do with it?” I let out a gruff laugh. “For starters, when I see her a flood of memories come rushing back. If Mallory is with me I can’t focus because I’m afraid she’ll catch me stealing glances at Harley, or she’ll ask me if I still have feelings for her.” “Do you?” “Yes. No. Yes.” With a lift of his brow, Cord gave me an incredulous look. “Which one is it?” Closing my eyes, I sighed. “I don’t know.”

AMIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW

This is a second chance story which I love !! Tripp and Harley had it all - or so he thought. They were going to graduate , get married , he would start a law firm and Harley would... oh wait , what would Harley do ?? In planning the perfect future Tripp may have forgot to check with Harley !! So of course she ditches and now has returned and from reading the series so far we know the return is a surprise. Harley is ready to mend fences and fess up to her feelings and mistakes. Tripp wants to play bad a$$ and hard to get. His actions do become slightly questionable BUT he thinks he can justify his actions. With Tripp's huge family and Harley being friends with most of them it isn't easy for them to escape each others presence. Love catching up with all the family and seeing those HOT Parker bros working on the ranch !! I look forward to what comes next and to check in on everyone else !!

Disclaimer...Sadly Tripp had me on the verge of a 3-3.5 star rating - love him but hated the whole Mallory thing...but yet hated to not actually get the scene of them ending things. Such an inner struggle !! But for real Tripp had all the feels and I don't blame him for some of his behavior. So just be warned if you don't like that whole making girls jealous with other girls and other relationships in play during the story you may have issues.

AMIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW

This was another great , gripping and twisted tale by non other than Stylo Fantome !!

Emma and her mother have a horrible relationship and this current husband just turns a blind eye to all their anger. The only intriguing thing that comes out of her mother's latest conquest is the son - Church...
Of course they shouldn't but you know they will !! This little game of theirs goes beyond lust, they share a weird desire and it takes this book to a different level. I really look forward to the next piece of the story. Yes this is a duet and yes you will either love it or hate it !!

Author Bio

Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

About AS DUST DANCES:

Once upon a time Skylar Finch was the lead singer of a hugely successful American pop-rock band. But fame made her miserable. When years of living a lie suddenly ended in tragedy, Skylar fell off the map.

Eighteen months later she’s sleeping in a tent in a cemetery in Glasgow, making just enough money to eat by busking on the streets. She manages to avoid recognition, but not the attention of one of Glasgow’s ambitious A&R executives.

Killian O’Dea works at Skyscraper Records, Scotland’s most successful record label. Raised by his uncle and owner of the label, Killian’s upbringing would have been devoid of affection entirely if it wasn’t for his loving sister. Killian is unflinchingly determined to bring the label more success than ever, and the young homeless woman who busks on Buchanan Street is going to help him do that. Her music speaks to him in a way he refuses to over-analyze. All he knows is that if it can touch his dark soul, it’ll set everyone else’s alight.

Skylar makes it clear that she doesn’t want to sign with him. But when she experiences the dangerous reality of a woman sleeping rough, Skylar has no one else but Killian to turn to. An undeniable connection forms between them. But Skylar doesn’t want the career Killian is trying to forge for her, and when her past comes back to haunt her Killian will be faced with a decision that could ruin him. He must either free Skylar from his selfish machinations and destroy everything he’s ever worked for, or lose a woman who has come to mean more to him than he ever thought possible…

Excerpt:

“The omelet is good,” I offered reluctantly when the silence felt too heavy.
But it was followed by more silence, the only sounds between us that of cutlery on plates and the soft sipping sounds of us drinking. I could barely finish the omelet, not used to eating something so substantial in the morning. O’Dea’s brows pinched together as he took my plate, but he didn’t say anything.
“I need a shower.”
“There’s an en suite in the bedroom. Fresh towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner in there too.” He reached into the carrier bag on the counter and pulled out a brand-new electric toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. He offered them and feeling a little unbalanced by the gesture, I took them.  “There’s a hair dryer in the bathroom as well. Your backpack is in the bedroom.”
I nodded, not quite able to thank him again after the last attempt.
“I’ll be out here when you’re done. We’ll get straight to the audition.”
And suddenly I didn’t care about thanking him. Throwing him a look of disgust, I disappeared into the bedroom and slammed the door behind me.
Unfortunately, a few minutes later, I had to come out of the room again. I found him sitting on the couch, drinking coffee, and scrolling through something on his phone. O’Dea looked up at me with an eyebrow quirk. I hated that eyebrow quirk.
I lifted my wrist with the cast. “I need something to cover this.”
Without saying a word, he got up, put his coffee and phone down on the island, and rummaged through one of the large drawers beside the range. He turned around with cling-film in his hands and gestured me to come to him with an odious curl of his finger. Internally huffing, I strode over to him and held out my wrist.
“This place is pretty well stocked,” I grumbled.
“We like to make sure every need is catered to.”
I harrumphed.
Then O’Dea triple-wrapped my cast with such gentleness, it stunned me silent.
I was still standing holding out my arm while he put the cling-film away. I frowned at his back, puzzled by his complexity. That is until he turned around and gave me that eyebrow again.
Just like that I was back to being annoyed and desperate to get out of his company.
My building resentment toward him only increased the moment I saw my reflection in the bathroom mirror.
How the hell could he look at me like this and demand that I audition?
Bluish bruising covered my puffed-up, swollen eye and upper cheek. My lower lip was swollen on one side where it had split. And underneath the injuries, my cheekbones cut sharply against my pale skin. The shoulders of my T-shirt hung down on my arms because my shoulders were too small for it.
I looked like a battered waif.
Skylar Finch was no more.

REVIEWED BY WENDY
4 stars

Oh man this was an excellent read! Samantha just brought me into the story with the characters, the storyline, the music aspect. Skylar has had it rough after a tragedy struck her. But it is the way she wants it. However what she didn’t bet on was Killian O’Dea. He threw her for a loop and I couldn’t wait to see how it would all play out. Skylar and Killian were great characters. They were so relatable, filled with dark and light. They were so alike and it was fascinating to see how their relationship will be as the story continued. The chemistry was top-notch and the emotions that pour from there was critical. I also loved the fact that the music was so much incorporated into the story. It really made it that much more better for me. I enjoyed those parts. I also liked some of the supporting characters in the story such as Skylar’s bandmates and Killan’s sister Autumn. Autumn was the sweetest and I loved her character. There were so many curves on this journey but it all had its moments. As Dust Dances was a slow-build, angsty, emotional, heartwarming story. Samantha wrote a fantastic book!

Richer Than Sin by Meghan March ~ RELEASE BLITZ ~

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.   A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends. Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes. I didn’t know or care what her name was. Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man. She hates me, and she should. I objected on her wedding day. Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger. They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable. I’ll never be done with her.

Guilty until proven innocent.

That’s the way the world works, right?

I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.

The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.

If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.

To keep.

To cherish.

I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.

Jill's Review for The Chase by Elle Kennedy

THE CHASE
(Briar U, Book 1)

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.
And that his best friend has a crush on me.
And that I just moved in with them.
Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?
I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?
He knows where to find me.

4 Stars  - The Chase - book one in the Briar U series by Elle Kennedy.

This is a spin-off from the Off Campus series and features two characters we had met previously but rest assured you can go into this completely blind and still enjoy it. I highly recommend picking up the Off Campus books if you get a chance though too for some seriously good reading.
Summer Di Laurentis is a transfer student to Briar from Brown University and also the little sister to the legendary former ladies’ man - Dean Di Laurentis. Having to transfer under less than ideal circumstances right before the start of the semester no less leaves Summer scrambling  to find a place to stay. Summer refuses to call her parents to bail her out yet again, so she calls her brother Dean in the hopes that he still had some connections at his former school and he most definitely comes through. What she didn't expect was to rent the fourth room in his former townhouse with his hockey teammates one of whom she threw herself at last year but got shot down. If anything it will make for an interesting semester...
Colin Fitzgerald known to everyone as Fitzy is a bit of an anomaly since he prefers to keep to himself rather than party hard with his teammates. Fitzy would much rather be in a relationship or stick with the same 2-3 girls for casual hook-ups than have a revolving door of one night stands so when he meets the beautiful, blonde bombshell that is Summer he is intimidated by all that she does and says especially when she directs it at him. When she moves into the house things are brought to a whole new level.
This was a sweet college romance that reminds you to never judge a book by it's cover since the content underneath is what counts. While there was practically zero hockey in this book it did have lots of angst and lots of steam with promising characters to come. Seriously can't wait for Brenna, Hunter, Jake and hopefully Ben to get their stories too.
